Ron Sasso
Ron Sasso, MS, LPC has over 15 years of experience in working with people with brain injury including veterans. He spent 14 years running a brain injury rehabilitation program and has presented on various brain injury topics at conferences throughout the region (including presenting at Mayo Clinic and a poster presentation at the International Brain Injury Association's Eighth World Congress on Brain Injury in Washington, DC).

Ron has primarily focused on the social emotional aspects of brain injury with a particular emphasis on awareness and depression, catastrophic reaction, and anxiety. He has been a certified brain injury specialist trainer and had been on the Brain Injury Alliance of South Dakota board from 2006 to 2017. He has run two marathons while wearing a helmet to raise awareness for helmet safety. Ron is passionate about helping people overcome the challenges and adjustments to brain injury.

After being diagnosed with systemic scleroderma, Ron has become involved in helping people with scleroderma. He had founded and facilitated the Black Hills Scleroderma Support Group. In 2022, Ron was recruited by the National Scleroderma Foundation to facilitate the Newly Diagnosed Support Group (virtual) that has attendees from across the country and sometimes from around the world. Ron is passionate about autoimmune diseases and particularly scleroderma. He is an advocate for the importance of stress management in slowing the progression and flares of autoimmune diseases.
